Job Title: Interim Waste Enforcement Officer

Duration : 6 months

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Rates: £17.85 PAYE or £23.35 Umbrella per hour

Job Purpose and Responsibilities:

• Broad range of duties including the investigation of environmental type offences - littering, fly-tipping and offences surrounding the regulation of domestic and commercial waste.
• Implementation of the government guidelines with respect to abandoned and untaxed vehicles.
• Dealing with accumulation of waste on private premises and some public issues.
• Carrying out out multi-functional enforcement activities across a widespread area relating to licensed premises, taxis, litter control, dog fouling, abandoned vehicles and illegally deposited waste.
• Ensuring the protection and safety of the public through delivery of a high quality and cost effective enforcement service for the general public and all those areas licensed by the Licensing & Waste Enforcement team.

Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory framework covering the various waste and licensing enforcement functions delivered by the Council, including the Licensing Act 2003, the licensing of the hackney carriage and private hire trade, including operators, The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
• A minimum of 3 years Licensing experience and/or a minimum of 3 years experience in a Municipal Waste Management environment or similar discipline.
• Relevant experience of undertaking civil or criminal investigations in accordance with the requirements of PACE and RIPA, including the preparation of case files and presentation of evidence at court.
