Plasterer- Housing Department

Connect2Dudley is seeking a skilled Plasterer to join Dudley Council.

Duties

• Provide own transport and tools to work across multiple sites (Council vehicle provided when required)
• Carry out a full range of plastering works across Council properties to NVQ Level 2 standard
• Complete internal plastering, boarding, hacking-off, and use of gypsum and cement products
• Undertake external rendering, Tyrolean and spa-based coatings
• Carry out wall and floor tiling works
• Complete floor screeding works
• Undertake damp-proof course injection
• Undertake multi-skilled duties to support customer satisfaction and efficiency
• Carry out basic carpentry works (units, skirting, architraves, studding, cupboards)
• Undertake minor brickwork and general making-good
• Carry out limited plumbing tasks (radiators, mains relocation, lead flashing repairs)
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and Council officers; complete documentation on time
• Complete all work to required skill standards with care and professionalism
• Work independently or as part of a team; plan jobs, order materials, and complete documentation
• Carry out reasonable tasks within skill and competency levels
• Comply fully with Council policies and procedures
• Provide advice to customers on home maintenance and Council repairs policies
• Safeguard Council vehicles, tools, equipment, and site safety
• Be physically fit to work outdoors, at height, and attend health surveillance
• Work in dirty, confined conditions and handle heavy objects safely
• Accept flexible duties due to ongoing workforce multi-skilling
• Undertake regular training as required
• Occasionally supervise work placements or mentor apprentices
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role

THIS ROLE REQUIRES A BASIC DBS CHECK AND A VALID DRIVING LICENSE.

This is an ongoing assignment that offers 37 hours in a working week.
